In that case, what do you do? Well, that’s where a GSM module comes into play. This module attaches to your system and contacts your central station via GSM standards (basically like a cell phone). GSM and 3G as a means of communicating will become more and more usual as the price of cellular data comes down and domestic telcos offer unlimited data plans for a few bucks a month. This can also be used as a resilient link for a fixed line/DSL communications line giving ultra high reliability
